When you were you before

You lived in a temple.  You danced in circles.  You cradled the moon in your hands.  You glistened like sunbeams.  You listened to the whispering wind.  You knew your name was wild.  You lay down in the forest & wept with the rain.  You ran ravaged.  You hungered for the quiet.  You langored in your body.  You kinned with your sisters.  You rose like a warrior & fell like a feather.

When you were you before

You greeted the dawn in revelation.  You lived eternity.  You mothered all the children.  You clawed in the earth.  You birthed the flowers.  You romanced the drum.  You scavenged & hallowed the darkness.  You roared.  You charmed.  You sang with the banshees.  You painted the stars.  You wove the knots & threw the spells.

When  you were you before

You cooed from rooftops.  You did not waiver.  You did not wait.  You sauntered softly upon the earth.  You spiraled with arms stretched wide.  You opened the door.  You drew back the curtain & offered the gift.  You drove the chariot.  You howled with gusto.  You harmonized the realms.  You quivered in delight.  You rode butterflies & fed dragons.

 When you were you before

You wandered through petals.  You burst forth wisdom.  You kept secrets.  You led revolutions.  You calibrated the cosmos.  You were brazen in being.  You celebrated your muddy feet & your muddy life.  You enchanted poems.  You inspired the elements.  You coaxed things into being.  You mused the pantheon.  You spoke the ancient tongue & tail.

When you were you before

You slipped off rainbows.  You courted elegance.  You laughed unbridled.  You writhed in ecstasy.  You waltzed with pain.   You friended fairies.  You lost yourself & found yourself.  You evoked symphonies of sorrow.   You climbed into the fire.   You shouted at the mountains.  You sang lullabies to the desert.  You called the light & you called the light & you called the light.
